Sara Silvestri (City University London)

Dr Sara Silvestri is Senior Lecturer in International Politics at City University and a Research Associate at Cambridge University. Sara holds a Laurea degree from Rome, Italy, has an MPhil and PhD from Cambridge, and has been a Marie Curie Fellow in Paris. She has also worked in Brussels, for the President of the European Commission and as coordinator of the Islam in Europe programme at the European Policy Centre. Her research and publications examine various articulations of Muslim identity and of political mobilisation (including Political Islam) as well as public policies towards religion across Europe. Her latest works are her monograph on Europe's Muslim women (forthcoming Hurst publishers) and a collaborative project sponsored by the ESRC, on the impact of counter-terrorism on Irish and Muslim communities in Britain
