Pegah Zohouri Haghian is a Dphil student in Oriental (Middle Eastern) Studies at St. Antony's college, University of Oxford.
Her research interests include sociology of intellectuals, contemporary intellectual debates within Islam and the role of Muslim intellectuals in the European public sphere. More specifically her doctoral dissertation deals with the interaction between Muslim intellectuals and the British media between 1989 and 2009. She started the graduate seminar series on Comparative Intellectual History at the University of Oxford. She is also co-organising the conference "The Public Role of Muslim Intellectuals: Historical Perspectives and Contemporary Challenges" at St Antony's with Olivia Luce. Before completing her Master degree in Language, Cultures and Institutions in Eurasia and Mediterranean from University Ca Foscari, Venice, she studied at the School of Oriental Studies (SOAS) in London and at Tehran University, Iran.
